Your adventure begins with an early departure from Fes, heading toward the Middle Atlas Mountains. Along the way, we will stop in Ifrane, known as "the Switzerland of Morocco" for its alpine-style architecture and cool climate. Continuing to Azrou, we will visit the cedar forest, home to the famous Barbary macaques, before driving through stunning mountainous landscapes.
Our journey takes us through the Zad Pass (2,178m) to Midelt, where we will stop for lunch. Afterward, we drive through the Ziz Valley, admiring the lush palm groves and traditional Berber villages. Reaching Erfoud, famous for its fossil products, we continue to Merzouga, where we will settle in our hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, we will explore the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Our first stop is the Khamlia Village, known for its rich Gnaoua music, where you can experience traditional drumming performances. We then visit Mifis Mines and Tissardmine Oasis, learning about Berber culture and the lives of nomads who reside in the desert.
By late afternoon, we return to the hotel to prepare for the camel trek into the heart of the Sahara. Led by experienced camel guides, you’ll traverse the dunes, witnessing a stunning desert sunset. Upon arrival at the desert camp, enjoy a traditional Berber dinner, listen to local music, and marvel at the star-filled night sky before resting in your private tent.
Wake up early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the dunes before returning by camel to Merzouga. After breakfast and a refreshing shower, we set off toward Rissani, home to one of Morocco’s most vibrant traditional markets. Explore the souks and learn about the region’s history as an important trading post.
Continuing to Erfoud, we visit a local marble and fossil workshop before passing through the lush Todra Valley. Our next stop is Todra Gorge, a spectacular canyon with towering rock walls reaching 300 meters. You will have time to explore the gorge and enjoy lunch at a nearby café.
In the afternoon, we journey through Boumalne Dades, stopping at Dades Valley, where dramatic rock formations, known as "Monkey Fingers," create an otherworldly landscape. We check into a traditional hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, we continue through the Dades Valley, stopping at the Rose Valley in Kalaat M’Gouna, known for its fragrant rose water production. We then visit the Skoura palm grove, home to ancient kasbahs and stunning scenery.
Arriving in Ouarzazate, often called the "Hollywood of Morocco," we explore Taourirt Kasbah and visit the world-famous Atlas Film Studios, where many Hollywood blockbusters were filmed. You’ll have free time to explore the city before heading to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Following breakfast, we visit the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its impressive mudbrick architecture. This ancient ksar has been featured in many films, including Gladiator and Game of Thrones.
After exploring the kasbah, we drive through the Tizi N’Tichka Pass (2,260m), the highest mountain pass in Morocco, offering breathtaking views of the High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, we stop at Berber villages, where you can take photos and enjoy the landscape.
By late afternoon, we arrive in Marrakech, marking the end of an unforgettable 5-day desert adventure. Drop-off at your accommodation.
