- plan :

Your Middle Atlas adventure begins at 10:00 AM with a comfortable pickup from your hotel or riad in Fes. As you leave the bustling medina behind, your journey into the mountains begins with stunning views of rural Morocco unfolding around you. The first stop is Immouzer, a peaceful village known for its apple orchards and the renowned National Apple Festival held each July. This small town offers a calm, scenic break and a taste of authentic countryside life.

Next, you’ll visit the charming town of Ifrane, often called “The Switzerland of Morocco” due to its European-style architecture, red-roofed chalets, and pristine streets. Whether covered in snow during winter or blooming in color during spring, Ifrane is a delightful and unexpected surprise in the Moroccan mountains. It’s also a popular summer escape for locals thanks to its fresh climate and leafy parks.

The road continues upward into dense cedar forests where you’ll stop near Azrou, home to Morocco’s most famous residents — the wild Barbary macaques. You’ll have the chance to interact with and feed these playful monkeys in their natural habitat, surrounded by towering ancient trees and crisp mountain air. Azrou itself is a traditional Amazigh (Berber) town with a vibrant weekly market, especially lively on Tuesdays. Stroll through the medina, observe local artisans crafting rugs and woodwork, and explore its flower-lined streets and green-tiled rooftops.

After a full day of scenic beauty and cultural discovery, your driver will take you back to Fes through the same lush mountain landscapes. You’ll arrive at your accommodation by early evening, bringing back unforgettable moments from the heart of the Middle Atlas.
